This week we shut the farm down for the winter. Cleaned the rooms, locked up and drained the water. Done it enough times that we do a pretty efficient job. I always wonder how long it will be before I recall something I forgot. I mentioned to Cathy, it came to me, that I took my gold chain off and left it on the dresser. She replied "I saw it and picked it up". Now I have to wait for the next thing I forgot.
I left with a feeling of sadness. I miss the place. I hope I will see it again very soon. I would love to be there when the snow covers everything, and the wind whistles by the house. That most of all reminds me of my youth in Iowa. Were you aware that I had a youth? Long time ago.
